Babydoll Beauty Secrets: DIY Exfoliator

In keeping with our theme this month of fighting and preventing dry flaky skin, Amanda has a fantastic tip for us! And it’s perfect for those who love DIY beauty! So, we can all be honest and say that we do not like dry and flaky skin. It makes makeup look patchy, it’s uncomfortable and sometimes it makes it hard to put our best face forward (quite literally). Exfoliators can help this problem tremendously and best part is, you can make this one right at home! Just combine sugar and fresh lemon juice together until it makes a paste. Then massage onto your face in little circles, concentrating more in the spots that may be more dry and flaky, and then wash off! It’s easy to make, inexpensive, smells amazing and you can use it as a body scrub as well to really fight off dry skin!

Babydoll Beauty Secrets: The perfect New Year’s Eve Pout!

Your lips are an important part of your face. Babydoll stylist Amanda is sharing with us today just how to make them completely kissable, just in time for New Year’s Eve!

First, you can make sure they are nice and soft with a simple lip scrub. Mix together a 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil, 2 tablespoons of white sugar, and 1 teaspoon of honey. With your finger massage roughly a silver dollar size amount of this on your lips for 1 minute and then wipe off with a damp paper towel. Now your lips are already for vibrant color!

Start by making sure your lips are moisturized. Next, use a lip liner that is the same shade as your lipstick and fill in the entire lip, this will make sure your lip color stays on longer and doesn’t feather. Apply your lipstick as you normally would and then use a concealer brush with some concealer or foundation to go around the edges of your lip, making sure to blend. This will clean up any edges and also add some dimension to your lips. Now it’s time to take your perfect bright lip out on the town!

Happy New Year’s Eve!!

Babydoll Beauty Secrets: DIY Dry Shampoo

One of the newest Babydoll Weddings stylists Robyn shares this ingenious tip:

I don’t wash my hair everyday so I need a dry shampoo to help my hair look fresh on my no wash days. Dry shampoos can cost more than I what to spend so I make my own. I have dark hair so I need something that can blend well with my hair color. I mix a little cinnamon and a couple of tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder together and put inside an empty season jar and shake the mixture in my hair for a quick dry shampoo. And that’s it!!! Super easy and always have the ingredients on hand. Hope you enjoyed hearing my beauty tip of the month and this easy DIY. Hope you give it a try and share with us how well it works for you in the comments below.
