You’ve been planning for your big day for months and it’s almost here. It is so close you can see your future husband standing at the aisle and you can taste those tasty appetizers you so carefully chose. It’s all come down to that one night. There are some brides who may panic thinking about all of this (which is totally understandable) and with this they may do something drastic. Working in the industry I’ve seen them all. So with that I have created “Michelle’s Top 5 Do Not Do Before the Wedding List” to help those in need.
Number One: New Hairstyles
It is suggested not to try out that cute new bob hair cut or dusty pink color right before your wedding; no matter how fantastic your hair stylist may be. I suggest this because you do not want any surprises on your wedding day, especially with how you look. And you don’t want to end up hating the cut and not being able to go back or hating the color and not having the time to get it recolored. None of us want to look back at our wedding photos and ask ourselves “why did I ever do that?!”
Number Two: Too Many Cocktails
A week before your wedding is generally filled with parties, celebrations and dinners; all of these probably will include cocktails of some sort (generally speaking of course). Of course you want to celebrate with your friends and family but just be careful with the amount of cocktails you have. Drinking can be a source of unwanted calories and can cause skin problems. Too much alcohol can cause you to feel bloated and not great after a late night of drinking and not enough sleep. Bloating and blemishes on the skin and dark circles from lack of sleep is the last thing you need on your big day!
For the fourth year running we are more than happy to be participating in the Mesa Wedding Walk! For those of you who do not know what the Mesa Wedding Walk is (and for those who are recently engaged this is definitely an event that you cannot miss) a great way to peruse venues in Downtown Mesa, meet some of the best vendors in the industry and on top of that greatness you are able to win prize packages to help plan your big day! The event is free for the bride and groom and a plus one (any additional guest is $5).
Each venue will be decorated in full wedding decor to help each and every bride imagine their big day, from flowers, linens and catering to hair and makeup. You do not need to worry about going to venue to venue, there will be a free car service ready to whisk you and your guests away to the next venue!
We will be present at Regency Gardens and the Marriott so please stop by and see the fun contest we have planned as well as our social media blitz!
For more details visit the Downtown Mesa Wedding Walk website and we can’t wait to see you there!

How did you and your groom meet?
We met through mutual friends in high school. The next semester, he was in my Economics class where we were seated next to each other. I used this opportunity to ask him questions and be his partner for projects.
We are dying to know, how did he propose?!
I had the weekend off of work and no plans, so he suggested that we go to the Grand Canyon. We drove up Friday night to Flagstaff and continued to the Grand Canyon on Saturday. We took one of the shuttles to several of the lookouts. At one, he pulled me off to the side away from the crowd. He pulled away and I thought he was turning around to go back, but when I turned around he was on one knee!
I got lash extensions the other day and can I just first say; I am in LOVE with them. It has become one of those things where you can’t imagine your life without it. Yes I know how that sounds but I can’t help it, I love them! So, in spirit of my new eyelashes I wanted to make a post about lash extensions and the best ways to take care of them!
Lash extensions are not strip lashes they are individual lashes that with adhesive are attached to your individual lashes. The process can take up to two hours for a full set but if you take care of them well they can last up to four weeks. But it is generally suggested to have a fill every 2-3 weeks. In taking care of your lashes, especially right after the application it is important to sleep on your back. I know how hard it may be, especially if you sleep on your side like me but it’s important. The adhesive can take some time to fully dry and by sleeping on your back it will help avoid weird kinks in your eyelashes.
With eyelash extensions comes more maintenance and love than what normal lashes require. Avoid pulling or tugging on them and when washing your face it is best not to rub the towel over your eyes. Instead wash your face as normal but use a gently cleansing wipe to remove any eye makeup. Try to avoid cotton pads, they can weaken the extension and no one wants cotton stuck on your lashes. And make sure to comb them. They can get a little crooked after sleeping.
And something so incredibly important to remember is, do not use an oil based or water proof mascara. Once again, do not use an oil based or water proof mascara. These types of mascara can dissolve the adhesive and can shorten the life of your lashes dramatically.
Even with the time and little more maintenance than I’m used to I will never go back!

With the holidays over and a new year upon us we have already been planning events and so many exciting things. One of our favorite events is the Mesa Wedding Walk! This year is the fourth year of this fantastic event in Downtown Mesa! You are able to look at venues, meet the best vendors in the industry and get a head start on planning your wedding. Make sure to stop by and say hi, we would love to meet you!
With the holiday season behind us and now all the gatherings and get togethers are over we can focus on getting back on our normal routine. But I know for me there is one new beauty routine I need to add to my regime and that is covering the dark circles that have formed. Micky has a fantastic way to solve my problem! She suggests in using an eye cream with caffeine to help get the blood circulating. It will also help reduce some puffiness and intense darkness. Then she says and yes it sounds weird but use an orange lip stick or cream blush and blend into the skin to correct the darkness and then the dark circles are gone! I can say that this tip works very well and it has made me look more alert and bright eyed!
You have been planning your big day for months and maybe even longer. Everything is in it’s place and every detail is figured out and you even have a backup plan to your backup plan in case something goes wrong. Now that the day is here and you have planned your dream wedding, the only thing you need to be focused on is getting married! Not if your lip color has faded a tad or if your hair needs a quick touch up; so let your maid of honor worry about any faux pas that may happen. All she needs is a wedding survival kit complete with things like a sample of your lip color, Band-Aids, bobby pins, stain removal, Q-Tips – the works! They can be purchased already put together for you or you can create it yourself and find an adorable makeup bag to put it all in that your maid of honor can use later! We love this idea because what’s better than looking fabulous? Looking fabulous and not worrying about anything!
