After the long stressful day our feet need rest and maybe a little spoiling too. In order to have them refreshed, rested and re-energized, we should cultivate the useful habit of soaking. It’s easy, it only takes ten minutes and the effect is stunning, especially in inflamed, cracked or varicose feet. Here is how:
Pour cool water in a small basin. Use warmer water in the cold winter months. Pour one tablespoon or more of massage oil or any other essential oil. Choose lavender for varicose veins, pine for tired feet and lemon for freshness. If you’re out of essential oils, add bath salts or a heaping spoonful of sea salt.
Mix and soak feet for 8 to 10 minutes. Relax your mind by turning on some calming music or reading one of your favorite book.
After a soak, dry your feet with a soft towel. If desired you can follow up with lotion or massage oil. Apply in gentle massaging motions for 3 to 5 minutes for maximum efficiency.
