So now that you have the back story to the amazing photoshoot Babydoll Weddings did with Strut Bridal at Chateau Luxe I can now dive even deeper into the process, the looks and the creativity that we all put into this shoot. Since I feel that every look deserves their own this post will be all about one look and one stylist. And I don’t think everyone wants to read a 15 page post which is what would happen if all four looks were in one post.
We will start with the Classic look which was given to Micky. Of course as you all know before the shoot I created inspiration boards for the stylists to use to gain some idea what I wanted the outcome to be. Thanks to Pinterest and past brides I gathered pictures of what I felt looked like the classic bride. Of course when this was handed to Micky I made sure to tell her this is inspiration but please do what you feel will make your model, Megan, look like a classic bride.
With the help of Ashley from Strut Bridal we were able to pair the dresses to the looks prior to the shoot. Megan was wearing a stunning gown! A fitted champagne/ivory mermaid style gown with a ruffle bottom and lace details. It was so amazing and fit her perfectly! I have to say the ladies at Strut Bridal rock at fitting girls and dresses!
And then comes Micky with all of her talents and experience and turned Megan into exactly what I expected a classic bride to look like! She used a dark red lipstick which made the ivory color of the dress pop! And then Micky pulled her hair back in a gorgeous bun and completed the look with the two details that screams classic bride to me; the veil and the pearls. Absolutely in love! I am not talented in hair and makeup so being able to see an image you have created in your imagination come to life and be everything you wanted it to be a more; it’s a great feeling!
I’m sure I mentioned how excited I was to be able to book this shoot at Chateau Luxe and if not, I was very excited to be able to have this shoot there. With the glamorous chandelier when you first walk in, the beautiful and unique rooms and all of that wonderful furniture and decor that fills the halls; it seemed like the perfect fit for this shoot! It was such a success and I’m so excited to continue sharing photos and experiences from the other stylists and models from this shoot!

How did you and your groom meet?
We met through mutual friends in high school. The next semester, he was in my Economics class where we were seated next to each other. I used this opportunity to ask him questions and be his partner for projects.
We are dying to know, how did he propose?!
I had the weekend off of work and no plans, so he suggested that we go to the Grand Canyon. We drove up Friday night to Flagstaff and continued to the Grand Canyon on Saturday. We took one of the shuttles to several of the lookouts. At one, he pulled me off to the side away from the crowd. He pulled away and I thought he was turning around to go back, but when I turned around he was on one knee!
With the holiday season behind us and now all the gatherings and get togethers are over we can focus on getting back on our normal routine. But I know for me there is one new beauty routine I need to add to my regime and that is covering the dark circles that have formed. Micky has a fantastic way to solve my problem! She suggests in using an eye cream with caffeine to help get the blood circulating. It will also help reduce some puffiness and intense darkness. Then she says and yes it sounds weird but use an orange lip stick or cream blush and blend into the skin to correct the darkness and then the dark circles are gone! I can say that this tip works very well and it has made me look more alert and bright eyed!
It is your big day and you have everything planned to the very last detail. You have chosen the perfect dress, the perfect jewelry, the best hair and makeup and the perfect shoes! The last thing you want or need is your shoes hurting your feet in the middle of the celebration. Make sure you break in your shoes before the big day so they’re comfortable and ready for all that dancing!
Hair gets knotted and tangles happen, as much as we try to avid them, they happen; especially with long hair. And we try everything we can to make our hair easier to brush. It is common belief that wetting hair is the best way to help untangle it. Our stylist Micky says never to do that! When hair is wet is it in its most fragile state. Make sure you turn your brush vertically (not horizontally). When the brush is horizontal the bristles cross each other but when it is turned vertically that are not and this helps with untangling the hair and making it easier to brush. So you start brushing at the end of the hair and go up until your hair is silky smooth and tangle free!
