Screen Shot 2016-04-15 at 3.20.28 PMAfter working in weddings for some time now and attending my share of weddings as a guest I have come to realize that the food is probably the most talked about portion of the wedding; under the bride’s dress of course. With food being a very important topic we felt it was necessary to shine a light on Special Moments Catering for this Friendor Friday! To find out more about this great company and all the delicious food they make; read more below!

What is your name?
Brad Taylorglowing_buffet

How long have you been in business?
Our firm has been in business since 1984

What is your favorite part of your job?
Oh man…there are a ton. I really love the trust that people have in me and my company. I love it when the simply give me a budget and tell me to take the reigns. We really are at our best when given simple guide lines and clear boundaries. Its fun to surprise clients with details and items they weren’t expecting.

What is your favorite part of the wedding industry?
The personal connection between client and vendor. Many of my clients become great friends afterward and stay that way for a very long time. I still get Christmas cards from Brides and Grooms.

ice_carvingWhat is your favorite memory being in business?
My favorite memories are sometimes what others would consider the worst of times. Most of my fondest memories are the little things that don’t go right. About 5 years ago I had a group of groomsmen that were having a blast prior to the wedding. They had gotten dressed early and were sitting around in white shirts with white ties and black pants. The best man grabbed a meat ball (marinara style) from the app tray I had brought them(Keep in mind the Groom loved meatballs and insisted they be available before the wedding) and dropped it onto his white shirt. There was no way that stain was coming out prior to the wedding and it was up by the collar area so completely visible even with a coat on. So…I took off my button up shirt and traded him. We were very similar sizes and the shirt I had on was extremely close to the shirts that the groomsman were wearing. Made me feel pretty awesome to save the day even though I had to walk around for the rest of the evening with a big marinara stain on “my shirt”.

Is there anything new or exciting on the horizon for you?steak_and_shrimp
We always have new things happening here. Our latest is opening up our menus to Indian cuisine. We recently hired on and Indian chef to add that piece to our menu arsenal. There are really no Indian catering companies in town as far as we can tell, so that will be a very interesting prospect for our team.
