How did you and your groom meet?
We met in elementary school- I actually used to pick on him!! After we both grew up he decided we should try to go on a date and see where it went- and we haven’t looked back since!<3
We are dying to know, how did he propose?!
He got my entire family to meet on my favorite mountain (Mount Graham) He told me in was a long over due family reunion all went along with it! When we got to my favorite spot (Soldier’s Creek) he bent down on one knee in front of everyone and asked me to be his forever! It was magical! I later found out that when he asked my father for my hand my father gave him the ring he originally used to proposed to my mother and Shawn took the diamond from that ring and put in on a band he knew I would love!!!!
What were your wedding colors and why did you choose them?
Burgundy and Ivory! We love vintage and simple things and those colors depicted that perfectly.
Where did you find your dress? Would you say that finding your dress was relatively easy or difficult?
I went to David’s Bridal. I tried on two dresses- The first being the one I chose and the second was a “Cinderella” dress. I loved both of them but the first I felt more like myself so it was an easy decision.
Where did your ceremony and reception take place? Was there any special meaning behind the choice of the venue(s)?
Mining Camp in Apache Junction. Every time Shawn and I want to get away we go to Superstition Mountains so it was only fitting he have them as our background!
What kind of flowers did you have in your bouquet and at the ceremony/reception?
Red sunflowers- my favorite!
What was the flavor of your wedding cake?
Spice Cake!
Did you provide favors to your guests? If so, what were they?
We placed packets of wildflower seeds on an old rustic tin cake tier with a sign that read “Take one and watch love grow”
What details from your wedding that made it unique to you?
It was country- not over powering cowboy and the wild west. It was subtle and simple- just like our love!
Other than marrying your husband, what was one of your favorite moments from your wedding day?
The dancing!
What is one piece of wisdom you learned from your planning experience that you would like to share with future brides?
Make sure you drink plenty of water! I was so thirsty by the end of the ceremony!
Thank you so much Stormy for sharing your special day with us!
We loved seeing all of the photos and all of the smiles!
