What were your wedding colors?

Our wedding colors were purple, green and gray/silver. My favorite colors!

How many bridesmaids did you have?
I had only one bridesmaid, my sister-in-law.

Where did you find your dress? Was finding the dress a difficult process or relatively easy?
I found my dress at Almond Tree Wedding Boutique, a used wedding dress shop. I found the process to be relatively easy, I had my mom and mom-in-law with me and they were both so awesome.

Where did your ceremony and reception take place? Was there any meaning to the choice of venue(s)?
Our ceremony and reception took place at the Wigwam. I grew up in the west valley and the Wigwam was always a popular venue. They were great because they are full service. Also it was so close to home that I didn’t have to drive very far!

What flowers did you choose for your bouquet and throughout the wedding?
My bouquet was made up of hydrangeas and purple roses and our centerpieces were hydrangeas. Our florist was quite worried about my bouquet dying for pictures in the middle of summer because the hydrangeas are so sensitive, but I’m so glad I went with my gut and got my favorite flowers in my bouquet! They got a little droopy but it was worth it.

What was the flavor of your cake?
We had cupcakes! Our mini cake was gluten free (for me) and I honestly don’t remember what flavors we chose.

Did you provide favors to your guests? If so, what were they, and what was the meaning behind them?
We had small wedding favors. I wanted to make the reception seating unique so instead of a place card I had heart-shaped black and white cookies made by my favorite gluten-free bakery and then they were individually packaged and I added a name sticker to cookie.

Is there a detail that you had at your wedding that makes it unique? (alternative guest book, charitable donations, handmade décor, etc)
Our guestbook was a picture of a tree with owls sitting in it and “leaves” to sign your name on, that.

What was your pick for “first dance” with your husband? Is there meaning to the song selection?
Our first dance was “The Best Is Yet To Come” by Michael Buble. We took dance lessons to prepare for our first dance and this is one of my favorite songs, plus it has a perfect rhythm to dance to.

Any favorite moments that stand out in the day?

Just seeing all of our family and friends together and celebrating was really my (other) favorite part of the day.

Did you take a honeymoon? If so where did you go?
We went to Maui! Spent a week listening to the ocean and relaxing, it was so amazing.

What is one piece of advice you will leave for future brides?
Have a wedding planner, it helps so much so you don’t have to worry about the day of. Stick to what you want, and stick to your budget, you will be much happier that way!
